When the need to enlist in healthcare services arises, the last thing you want to think about is how you are going to pay. However, it is a reality everyone must face so why not take the time to get educated about it now?

There are a few different options that are available to you when it comes to paying for healthcare services in Los Angeles. Forever Caring wants to make it easy for you to find the information you need quickly and all in one place.

Here is a list of all the different payment options and how each of them works.

Medi-Cal and Medi-Cal Managed Care

These programs are designed for people with a low income. If you are eligible, you must select a plan within the Medi-Cal program and use medical services from doctors in their network. The government will pay the plan a fee each month and there is no cost to you.

This is a state initiative that has made healthcare accessible and affordable to those in need. There are specific requirements such as income, dependents, age and etc. that will determine if you are eligible for this type of plan. To learn more about Medi-Cal Managed Care click here.

Forever Caring accepts clients with Medi-Cal and Medi-Cal Managed Care for the majority of our services. With this type of coverage, you can receive home health care, hospice, and adult day health care. Nonmedical home care is not covered by Medi-Cal.

Obamacare and Private Insurance

Implemented in 2010 as the Affordable Care Act, Obamacare offers an online exchange where you can purchase your own healthcare plans. The plan you choose to enroll in will determine the type of coverage you will receive. For all California residents here is a complete guide on Obamacare to help you understand your options.

The other type of private insurance is available to you through your employer or other organizations. With private insurance, your coverage is also determined by the plan you select from your insurance provider.

We accept most major private insurance plans from LA Care, Health Net, Molina, Kaiser, Care 1st, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and SCAN.  We also accept all long term care insurance plans including Transamerica, Aetna, and VA Aid & Attendance for home care services.

To make things easier for our clients we handle all of the claims paperwork and processing, so our clients can focus on their health.

Out-of-Pocket Healthcare Costs

While this option is fairly straight forward, here is a definition that clearly explains what the term out-of-pocket means.

According to HealthCare.gov out-of-pocket costs are “your expenses for medical care that aren’t reimbursed by insurance. Out-of-pocket costs include deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments for covered services plus all costs for services that aren’t covered.”

Your health is something so valuable that a price should not deter you from receiving the care you really need. For the best quality care designed for your individual needs, it’s worth every penny.

We understand that it may be difficult to pay for services at the time of each visit, so we have setup a system that benefits our clients. If a client chooses to pay out-of-pocket, Forever Caring will bill bi-weekly.
